Tamil star Simbhu created a sensation on Thursday by sitting on a hunger strike in support of the students protesting against the Sri Lankan government.
Since the past four days, Dr. Ambedkar College students were undertaking a hunger strike at the Adyar in Chennai. The protests gained a steam with Simbhu joining the hunger strike in person. He sat down along with the students & chatted for few hours, and motivated them.
After the pictures of brutal killing of LTTE chief Prabakaran's 12-year-old son Balachandran surfaced online, several students in Tamilnadu launched protests and sat on a hunger strike. The students have been demanding a separate Tamil independent state in the North and East of Sri Lanka.
Until now, actors used to express their support either through the social networking sites or through the media. However, Simbhu stunned everyone by showing how to extend a whole-hearted support and has set an example.
